SHIP provides employers with the ability to reduce their premium costs by self-insuring a high deductible plan. The most expensive group medical plans typically include many first dollar benefits. By switching to a high deductible plan a group can reduce premiums significantly.

SHIP Highlights

The plans are also known as IRS Section 105B "Medical Reimbursement Plans." Section 105B plans have been available for more than 35 years and enjoy the same tax benefits as any group insurance plan.
